Our "Tinnitus Headlines" Past Present and Future!

I’m taking a writing class, and I started toying with what my “tinnitus headline” would be, and here are two options I came up with:

“How a Little Known Tinnitus-Clobbered
Composer from Chicago Combined Curiosity
With Determination… Reduced His Tinnitus to
a Mere Whisper And Created An Online Tinnitus
Healing Community That Gives You The Power To
Heal Yourself By Learning From People Who Have
Done It Successfully.”

and

“The Doctors All Laughed In The Curious Composer’s Face…
Until He Reduced His Tinnitus To A Mere Whisper And Created
An Online Tinnitus Healing Community That Gives You The Power
To Heal Yourself By Learning From People
Who Have Done It Successfully.”

Those headlines would describe my “present,” and, well, my past headlines are too gruesome to mention, however, my future desired headlines are only a tiny bit different from the ones above.

It’s something like:

“How a Little Known Formerly Tinnitus-Clobbered
Composer from Chicago Combined Curiosity
With Determination… Reduced His Tinnitus to
Sweet Silence And Created An Online Tinnitus
Healing Community That Gives You The Power To
Heal Yourself By Learning From People Who Have
Done It Successfully.”

or

“The Doctors All Laughed In The Curious Composer’s Face…
Until He Regained Crystal-Clear Tinnitus-Free Hearing, And Created
An Online Tinnitus Healing Community That Empowers You
To Heal Yourself By Learning From People
Who Have Done It Successfully.”

Here are some headlines I wrote in honor of some of our CureTinnitus.org members and contributors, who remain anonymous:

Hi “Alice,” oh man, that is just too true. Did you see the Cure Tinnitus Show where Julian said “I like to be able to walk to my therapy sessions, so I just walked around to find out what was in my neighborhood.” Sounds a bit like my story too. Ten’s of thousands spent, and really, the trouble, and the solution, is right here at home. Thanks for the insightful headline.

61 year old bright, underemployed, neurotic, obsessive-compulsive worrier confronts her demons, learns that tinnitus is no different than any other somatic symptom she consciously or unconsciously focuses on, is astonished that she no longer pays much attention to it, marvels at how it has generally eased up, and moves on with her life.
