suffering from tinnitus last over 10 yrs.
had been suffering from irritability and depression

further intrested for treatment possible

I just wanted to share the success I am having with tinnitus treating it with low level laser light therapy. It’s really something you should talk about on your site. It’s the only thing that has worked for me. My tinnitus has gone from a 7-8 to a very livable 1-3. The laser light stimulates the nerves to heal. In my case I have some hearing loss and it is getting better too. Are you familiar with Dr. Wilden’s work in Germany? His link is http://www.dr-wilden.de or http://www.dasgesundeohr.de and http://www.lumomed.de

I am having treatment locally at an acupuncurist. There are also home kits for sale.

I have emailed back and forth with a few of his patients and they have all had success as well.

Anyway- just wanted to share this. It may help many who are suffering from tinnitus.

I haven’t seen anything on here that mentions anything about curing tinnitus. I have one of the most severe cases my doctor has ever seen. It keeps getting louder and louder. It never has really distressed me to the point that I hear others talk about but it is louder, much louder than the world around me. I can’t even go to moderately loud places or be in crowds where many people are talking…even with good ear plugs in. They keep ringing louder despite protection/ear plugs. I think that my calmness about it is due to my Zen practice but it does prevent me from going many places and doing many things. It is that bad. I have other serious health problems and am flat broke so I am wondering if you have “scholarships” for people who do not have the money?

First of all, I can’t thank you enough! It really means a lot to me that you would understand my situation and help me out like this. I can assure you I will be involved 100% and I take this very seriously and am willing to do whatever it takes to make it go away, make me not pay attention to it… whatever!

Just let me know what to do from here… you said you had to set up my account, so please let me know when you get around to doing that.

As for my question, other then the obvious of, will it ever go away? can it be cured? I always wonder, what I have to do to make it worse. I am in the studio a lot and most of the time the music is at low volume… sometimes it gets loud but not drastically. It scares me to think that something I may be overlooking could make it worse. At concerts, will ear plugs do enough? I wear ear plugs at the movies also… Basically, I know what I can do to make it not get worse, but what will actually make it worse?

Also, I am a songwriter/producer from … [personal info withheld] …

Hi, I absolutely love your site and thank you for bringing Julian to light, he is incredible!
I have had very low tinnitus for 7 months, I was a reallly anxious person before tinnitus. Very fast to go into fight or flight. Never really took it seriously enough to change.
SO NOW I am freaked, scared and very nervous about tinnitus, mainly because I feel that it is out of my control.
I have watched many videos on the site.
I don’t; know if there is any special or specific video I should be watching?
I am also depressed over the tinnitus. Every where I go I can only focus on it.
On a brighter not , I have had days where It completely goes away.
BUT I did also have pretty bad health anxiety BEFORE the tinnitus, so I imagine tinnitus is like my nervous system imploding after at least 8 years of bad adrenaline fight or flight anxiety.

MANY THANKS!
—–
Not sure right now if you are a member or not, however, I really want to compliment you on your understanding of tinnitus, where you are with it, and how you got to where you are.

You “might” be the Jen B. client that recently came on board, not sure. If so, you are in good hands and with this site, Jen, and Julian, I am quite happy to participate in your progress. Glad to have you around!

Dig up the 4 main guidelines we talk about at CureTinnitus.org, if you can’t find them let me know, and let’s keep talking about what helps you get better.

Best and good for you,
Dainis
—–
thank you so much, i appreciate your work so very much. thank you, just up tossing turning and anxious.
—–
Hi Dainis,
How can I get over feeling very scared of tinnitus. every times I hear it I go into fight or flight. Causing a very bad cycle. can you recommend anything from your site?
—–

Hi,

With all the computer mess going on, I don’t have the right version, but as a member you get this eBook:

LINK

I’ll send you the newer version later, but the clenching and relaxing exercise on p. 32 is great.

Also, if you let

http://www.curetinnitus.org/cu...s-show-19/
download completely (or download from one of these links)

LINKS

…and at about minute 67, Julian takes me through an exercise that helps you when you are having problems falling asleep.

Best,
Dainis
—–
tinnitus is a huge wake up call . i was really a nervous anxious obsessive mess. tinnitus is saying to me that my body does not like living in that state although i got very addicted to it. adrenaline..
thanks soooooooo much,

—–
Subject: Re: severely anxious over tinnitus

Yes, here is my suggestion: do your best to cuddle up, take good care of yourself, and read through Julian’s eBook. If you can, do the exercises…the better and worst list…the clenching and relaxing…the running commentary…these are very settling exercises that come from a therapist who healed himself.

Also, think about these four simple guidelines:

1) Relieving, happy, helpful body based therapy like CST or massage or…that settles you
2) Relieving, happy, loving mental/spiritual/emotional help like psychotherapy, counseling or other support work
3) Personal actions and inactions that feel great for you
4) Building a network of support around you, loving friends, good therapists, and hey…a pet or a neighbor’s pet?

So, if things get overwhelming…reach out for more help. This team is incredible: http://www.thelisteningear.net.../

Take things a step at a time…you may have a slow exit from tinnitus, a fast one, a spiky one with upheavals, we don’t know…but you’ve committed to helping yourself…you are here…you are asking for help and receiving it

Just email support, likely, won’t be enough in the long term…but once you apply all 4 guidelines in your life…you’ll literally be surrounded by loving caring support. And that can only feel good.

For motivation, check out the interviews at CureTinnitus.org, in general, people wind up grateful for having had tinnitus. It is a great gift.

Peace and smiles from Vienna,
Dainis
—–
exactly right. you are doing very very well. what soothes you? also, do send me a question or summary of your situation for Monday’s show…

sincerely,
Dainis

i really hope this works. when or if i join this(most likely when) that my tinnitus will go away. i would like to know how long it would take, like on average how long does it take, my tinnitus is brand new and i don’t want it to get worse since im still young and im sure that i will have alot of tragic emotional moments to make it worse when i get older. im thinking a little too much right now, just to draw the attention away from the noise, and its causing me to feel a little tense around the neck and shoulder area.

Due to a technical glitch, all CureTinnitus.org information is currently public for a short time. The teams at dreamhost.com and wishlistmember.com are doing a phenomenal job of tracking down a technical glitch that brought the CureTinnitus.org Membership Community website down for a number of days.

For now, even the site design is a bit different, but that’s because the correct design is causing errors.

Another issue was a hacking job done on another one of my websites, http://www.vaccine-facts.com..., and the same “user” had access to CureTinnitus.org. After setting a trap for the hacker, the Dreamhost team helped me rebuild CureTinnitus.org, and we will likely “close” the hacker trap very soon and we will either have helped stopped online crime or at least protected ourselves from it.

The damage is under control…and now it’s Wishlist Member’s turn to figure out why their software isn’t functioning at CureTinnitus.org anymore. Once they figure that out, we will go back to our membership model where guests can “get to know us,” and members can access the online community and continue to grow in their healing process.

I don’t know how long this technical glitch will be necessary, but it gives members the opportunity to access the community as usual, and it gives everyone the chance to thoroughly look behind the scenes at CureTinnitus.org to see what we are all about.

All of the Cure Tinnitus Shows are currently available for public viewing.
All of the Tinnitus Support videos are currently available for public viewing.
The Recently Acquired Tinnitus Program is available for public viewing.
The Tinnitus to Liberation Program is available for public viewing.
Our special interviews are available for public viewing.

If you have a friend you’ve been wanting to refer to CureTinnitus.org, now is the time to do it. Also, if anyone has been skeptical about our work, our programs, or our intentions…now is your chance to check us out…IN DEPTH.

We are here for you to see what we are about, and when the tech glitch is resolved, we will go back to our membership model. If you are not a member and benefit from the information, you are invited and urged to join and pay for the expertise gathered together at CureTinnitus.org. Learning to be fair to others goes a long way when you are learning to be fair to yourself, and a lot of people with tinnitus aren’t exactly in situations where they can be “fair” or even “good” to themselves.

This hacking situation and the resulting technical glitches have been expensive and time consuming for CureTinnitus.org. Your membership, donations, and honest feedback are most welcome at this time.

Here’s one we’re looking to cover:

Hi, Thank you so much for this site. I often log on at night when my tinnitus is bothering me and the rest of the family is sleeping. It helps me to get things into perspective and then get back to sleep. I wonder if it would be possible to do a show, or part of a show on night-time coping strategies. Maybe I’m not alone in finding this a difficult time. I guess the loneliness of the condition peaks at night. Plus, I’ve noticed a strange anomaly; when I go off to sleep the tinnitus can seem quieter, but then if I wake up in the night I find it’s got louder again and then I get distressed. How can this happen?! Bless you both for your continued work on this site. Really really appreciate your dedication and insights. –D

i have had tinnitus for just about 2 months now at first it was a semi soft non constant buzzing (small timed bursts) sound, i went to the doctor and he said it’s probably just a side effect from my last sinus infection which was in the last week of march, then 1 day after taking the medicine that was given to me, my buzzing sound went away, but i had a whole new sound in the opposite ear, now it was a constant soft low pitch ringing sound (i think in the background of the ringing sound, i heard a morse code sound aswell) i went to the doctor again and he said it should go away within a week but i waited 2 weeks and nothing it was the same sound, then i went to my “actual doctor” and she told me that in order to diagnose my tinnitus, i have to go to a nose and ear specialist, she thinks it’s because i drink WAY too much caffine (i love caffine) or because i listen to loud sounds all the time. now i met with her 3 weeks ago and i still haven’t gone to the specialist yet, (im afraid to go because im afraid they’ll tell me it’s incureable) do you think i should go ASAP or what im only bearly 17 and i really don’t want to live with this fucking sound for all my miserable life, (pardon the langauge but im very mad at myself for letting this happen too soon and too fast) now i met with this old man who had chornic tinnitus for over 10 years (one of my dads very good friends) and that he healed himself with 3 bottles of “tinni fix” over the course of 3 to 4 months, an unoffical pill that is “proven” to relief and take away tinnitus permenatly” now i really don’t what to do either take the pill or go to a specialist, please i need someone’s opinion (not family not close friends) i have really just thought about suicide, but i just don’t know i pray to god for a cure, (but i know it’ll never come, not in my life time that is) well anyway i hope you can help me, thank you and have a nice day (i now i won’t) :’(

reprinted anonymously with the author’s permission

hey,

well, suicidal thoughts are common at the outset of tinnitus, actually doing the act is something completely different. if you are ever motivated to go that far, i strongly suggest you seek help from a local or national crisis center.

i just looked up http://suicidehotlines.com/ and http://www.thelisteningear.net.../ and i’ll tell you the listening ear center in Lansing has been a real blessing in my life personally, so i recommend them highly.

now, since you are working through the issue and looking for answers, let’s leave ending your life as an option on the table, but evaluate whether it’s worth it:

1) tinnitus can be healed, i’m WAY WAY better than at onset, i’ve interviewed a good number of people who have healed themselves, and there are people who are available that can help.

So, looking at that one: sure, your docs may “say” it’s incurable, but just watch my is tinnitus curable video. If they say that, then they are simply wrong. They don’t have the facts. In a sense, you’d be killing yourself due to someone else’s ignorance.

2) you are currently in a lot of pain
Yes, you are, if you watch the interviews of people who used to have tinnitus, it’s the same story. We know how much it sucks, how much it hurts, how disorienting it can be…and we know how awesome it feels to get onto the other side of tinnitus.

Looking at that one: you could end your life due to your current pain level. Some people do that. But there are lots of people who’ve gotten through that pain to the other side, who’ve learned a whole lot about health and themselves in the process, and who literally FEEL GREAT and feel GRATEFUL for having had tinnitus.

Which group do you want to be a part of? The group that said “ahh, hurts too much, bye?” or the group that said “i can make it” and then wound up feeling BETTER THAN EVER?

3) You are young and have “this thing.”
Yes you are, and you listen to loud music and drink a lot of caffeine. Your body is already guiding you to the solution. Are you going to listen to your body or destroy your body?

4) You don’t want to take some pill
OK, are there any other options? When in crisis, we sometimes only see ONE option, when there are in fact many.

5) You pray for a cure but know it will never come
OK, if that is your stance, why bother writing to me? I don’t need to know about you then. You can go about your dealings in your own way, if you want to base your decisions on beliefs that do not reflect facts, then that is your choice. Does that make sense? The path “out” from tinnitus is a process and not “a cure,” but that path does exist and many have walked it. You don’t have to believe BS. Really. Ask yourself if it serves you.

6) You don’t want to go to a specialist
OK, which specialist do you not want to go to? If you don’t want to go to a specialist who can’t help you, that makes sense. If you don’t want to go to a specialist who CAN help you, then that is something else entirely. If that is your stance again, why bother writing to me?

Here are the guidelines we use at CureTinnitus.org

1. Build a network of support (relaxing, helpful, funny)
2. Get appropriate and relaxing body work (massage, cranio sacral, etc., find what suits you)
3. Get appropriate and relaxing counseling (psychotherapy, counseling, etc., find what suits you)
4. Do your personal relief stuff, get the rest you need, go on those walks, take time out for yourself, yes, do some stuff for yourself.

Frankly, that sounds umm…relaxing, centering, and FUN to me. I mean, you get to actually start healing from your “stuff,” you get to relax and have fun, and you start hanging out with really supportive people.

Anyway, now that I think about it, can I use your email as a post at my site (anonymously of course), because I get a lot of these kinds of emails and it would be great if the info were right there…especially if someone is thinking about suicide…you know?

You’re almost 18, but for now, I urge you to have a parent, guardian, friend, or relative help you subscribe to curetinnitus.org here:
http://www.curetinnitus.org/st...-tinnitus/

…you can scroll to the bottom of the page and there is a trial for $1 for one month. then take that month really seriously in your life. absorb the info and then see if it’s fair of you to continue on and not only pay for curetinnitus.org membership, but for the other therapies outlined in our 4 guidelines.

YOU CAN GET THROUGH THIS.

Best,

Hi,

I’ve decided to create a post where people can submit comments of dissatisfaction with CureTinnitus.org. Also, when I receive an angry, frustrated, or otherwise negative email, I plan to post them (anonymously for the email sender) here.

That way, I can respond publicly to common fears about curetinnitus.org being a scam.

Here’s an angry email I recently received from a member who, I think, recently canceled membership. I’ve also added my replies:

Why am I not able to see the video show with the Jennifer?

–It’s possible that you are not viewing the link while logged in. You can log in under Member Control Panel at the home page http://www.curetinnitus.org/ or here: http://www.curetinnitus.org/community/wp-login.php

You have promised to interview her on tinnitus show 19 and you have changed your mind.

–This phenomenon is called “projection.” You are telling me that I changed my mind, even though I have not. You are not checking whether I’ve changed my mind, you are telling me that it is so. Not only did I not “change my mind,” but the interview took place 11 days ago on May 19th, 2010, and I sent two emails to the community to let everyone know (and there is actually a nice member discussion going on over there). The link is here: http://www.curetinnitus.org/interview-with-jennifer-battaglino-lcsw-cht-tinnitus-therapist/

Let me remind you that you have promised Jennifer or another interviewee in one of previous shows a long time ago and you cancelled it.

–Yes, and I fulfilled my promise. Again, you are telling me that I canceled something that I did not. This is a psychological error in logic. I hope you work on your projections, so that you can be on solid ground in your communications with others and yourself. The interview was delayed with good reason, reasons that make your comments insulting to me.

Julian (although he is good and reassuring)is talking about specific peripherial questions which may not concern some of your subscribers.

–Again, you say that Julian is talking about specific peripheral questions. Are you right about that? These “definitions of is” without checking lead people to serious difficulties in their relationships and their lives. I’m glad I know that now, and I hope you can come to realize that you are using a logically flawed structure that does not serve you well. It does not bring you to health, well being, or greater understanding of self or others. Frankly, it creates pain. We are currently testing the hypothesis at CureTinnitus.org, that member relief is directly proportional to their application of our 4 main guidelines for tinnitus treatment. How are you doing with those? If your email to me has this many false projections stated as truth, I suggest you address these issues with your psychotherapist or mental health professional. If your psychotherapist can’t help you come to a more clear understanding of logic and sound communication with yourself and others, you might consider interviewing some other psychotherapists.

In general, since we know that tinnitus is a multidisciplinary problem,-you have to bring as many intrviewees as possible.

–I find you telling me what I “have to” do pretty rude. We have, I think, 5 or so expert interviews at this time. That’s a lot. I’m more than happy to have you interview tinnitus professionals and would consider posting your interviews at CureTinnitus.org. Also, you can nominate health practitioners to be interviewed, which is how we wound up connecting with Jennifer Battigliano. Maybe try making a suggestion as to whom you would like us to interview? Can you see how that would serve both of us, and the CureTinnitus.org community…much better?

If you really want to help people you have to search thoroughly for interviewees from the whole spectrum such as TRT,cognitive behavioral therapists,Kevin Hogan, nutritionists etc.

–Do you have any idea how much time, effort, and money I’ve put into this site? Also, I suggest you try asking before complaining. We have a lot of that kind of information available, and ahh…now I know where the “rub” is here. You are saying “if you really wanted to help people, you have to.” Again, that falls under something called a projection, and actually, if falls under what Patricia Evans, author of “The Verbally Abusive Relationship” defines as abuse. I strongly suggest you check out this website: http://www.verbalabuse.com/ and begin to remove verbal abuse from your communication.

The reason your words are abusive, is because I DO REALLY WANT TO HELP PEOPLE, and I have interviewed the types of people you are talking about, I’ve reached out to them as well, I’ve gotten in touch with every national tinnitus association in the world…I mean honestly…I find you saying “If you really wanted to help people,” incredibly rude.

Instead you send us links to a nutritional program which costs a lot of money (and most probably you get a commission from them). To tell you the truth, this project may have started as a “helping community” without a profit, BUT now it seems that it is organized completely like a “greedy” company.

–Our program is based on giving you a month in advance, you only pay if you are happy. If you aren’t happy, cancel and don’t pay. That is the least greedy structure I could come up with. I dedicated so much of my life money blood tears and sweat into creating CureTinnitus.org that your response has me feeling very angry. Greedy? Really? I am very sorry you see us that way, but I cannot help it. If you wanted to know more of the “backstory” about CureTinnitus.org, you could find out. But greed is the last thing on my mind, and I’ve lived on almost “unlivably” low income for over a year to get CureTinnitus.org up and running. That program is a few hundred bucks, and I made it clear that I receive a commission from sales…it’s right there in the email and under the advertisement. Also, the INFORMATION in that program is amazing, outstanding, and totally worth every penny. I am already saving members tens of thousands of dollars by providing CureTinnitus.org in the form it is in…is that not enough for you?

I am more than sorry uttering this so bluntly but we are dealing here with human health.

–I find it unfortunate that you describe your words as “blunt,” when they contain projection, false assumptions, and verbal abuse.

People are suffering so at least give them sense of dignity.

–You want me to give people a sense of dignity, because people are suffering? My response to that is: I take on a tremendous amount of responsibility and risk with this website. I feel that everything I do gives people who learn from me or purchase my products a “sense of dignity,” yet I also know that peoples’ sense of themselves is a deeply personal thing that I can hope to impact, but cannot expect to be able to. Yes, people are suffering, and I recognize that you are suffering as well, and I feel tortured by the locked logic in your email to me. It’s incredibly difficult to read so many projections and false assumptions phrased as accusations. It would be much easier, if you would just make a request, you know? I mean…just ask where the info might be…or nominate a health care practitioner…or ask how to log in properly.

…if you are unhappy…just cancel your membership

…if you’d like something in particular…just ask…

…if you can’t find something…just ask…

…we are in this together and CureTinnitus.org is here to help. If you expect to get well from tinnitus without spending money on your own therapy, learning, or growth, then I personally don’t feel you’ll be very effective…but good luck to you!

I wonder if you have any thoughts about my latest T variations…

I’ve had tinnitus in my left ear since its hearing was impaired by an operation – initially it was horrendous. I’ve always been sensitive to noise in any case, and I’m also a musician of sorts. Lately I’ve been managing it better – ie I’ve had more “better” days (although when it returns after a good spell I notice it more, even if it is relatively quiet); however, in the last few years I’ve been hearing ticking noises [private_Module 1]in my right ear, and in the last couple of years these noises have become more frequent. They sound as if something physical is happening; I am often annoyed by crackling noises which are not dissimilar in my left ear – sometimes, more annoyingly, when the T is relatively Ok in that ear.

I had thought that these ticking noises – sometimes singular, sometimes in a cluster, sometimes quite quiet, sometimes louder – could be objective tinnitus, but an ENT specialist is sure this is not the case. These noises have been getting to me lately, and no doubt the anxiety has not helped the T in the other ear. A less rational part of me sees/hers them as “out to get me”, the last straw etc etc. My more rational self sees a lot in Dr Sarno’s “divided mind” thesis that chronic pain and other syndromes, including tinnitus, are psychosomatic – ie an attempt by a part of the brain to divert one’s attention from unconscious rage, sadness etc. If one accepts this diagnosis the symptoms often disappear – difficult, of course, as T can give rise to a load of irrational thoughts.

I could go on, but I would be very interested to know what you think of my ticking ear.

Regards

G.

PS EFT would seem to offer real possibilities in tinnitus management at the very least. Also, mindfulness meditation etc.

…I do have something to share…

As your mind grapples with tinnitus, you can consider resting in your body…or creating an environment in which you can do so…and that might only be at a therapist’s office.

I’ve experience total tinnitus silence during a Cranio-sacral session. Since then, I’ve moved back into a whisper of chronic tinnitus that does not bother my work, but still…I’ll be applying all of the components of the CureTinnitus.org program soon…hmm…can we help hold each other accountable?

I’m going to send a message to everyone about that…what an idea…what do you think?

Another thing is, clicking or screeching, howling or motorcycle noise-ing…my experience is that people experience relief in direct proportion to how thoroughly they apply these four CureTinnitus.org Program elements:

Do process that rage stuff…and we’ll cover this more during the show…and please remember, I’m just the coordinator and founder around here…Julian is the therapist and teacher…so I’m a fellow student doing the best I can…

…hey, and do tell me how I’m doing

Sincerely,

CureTinnitus.org Module: Accepting Your Role In Tinnitus

Level 3 Resigned

Tinnitus is like a: Doctor. Starts to accept T begrudgingly and listen to the advice it is trying to give you

Effect on life: Accepts that changes are needed for T to back off. Accepts support and help.

Feelings: Resignation, acceptance, sadness, begrudging

Mindset: Sometimes can focus away from T. I’m responsible, so how do I get out of this?

Awareness: Realises that body and mind need attention and sorting out

Challenge: To let T show you what makes you feel better. To learn from T rather than fight it.

This can be a challenging level. Ease into it and do take care of yourself. Make sure to get any missing portions of the CureTinnitus.org Program into place in your life. Here’s a quick reminder:

Build a network of support (relaxing, helpful, funny)

Get appropriate and relaxing body work (massage, cranio sacral, etc., what suits you)

Get appropriate and relaxing counseling (psychotherapy, counseling, etc., what suits you)

Do your personal relief stuff, get the rest you need, go on those walks, take time out for yourself, yes, do some stuff for yourself.

Paying attention to what feels good is important right now. The exercise at the end of the video (also described in the book) can provide perspective. You can also work with your counselor or therapist on the “plusses and minuses” that come up .

Interview History Below..

A member nominated Jennifer Battaglino as an expert to be interviewed, and we are thrilled she’s agreed. Here’s what’s happened so far:

Nomination:

Well I got a lot of mail contact with Jennifer Battaglino. She is my candidate. Her work is based on the ideas from Kevin Hogan. She has some great results, and she specializes in tinnitus. When you buy the TInnitus Reduction program from Hogan, you first can do a teleconsult with her. That’s the step Kevin Hogan reccomends…A lot of experience she has.

For more info http://www.theharwoodcenter.co...m

Contact

> Dear Jennifer Battaglino,
>
> Having found: You CAN Fly…With Tinnitus, No Magic Pill for Tinnitus,
> Tinnitus and Intimacy, SPADE and Tinnitus, Physical Causes of Tinnitus, and
> Emotional Causes of Tinnitus listed as blog articles on your website; along
> with the recommendation I received from one of my CureTinnitus.org members
> below; I feel confident that your work is synergistic with the work I am
> doing at CureTinnitus.org.
>
> I’ve interviewed Kevin Hogan, Paul Tobey, David Meyerson, Dr. Hans Greuel,
> and others regarding tinnitus, I host regular Cure Tinnitus Shows with our
> resident expert Julian Cowan Hill, and I would very much like to invite you
> to an interview to talk about tinnitus and the path of healing for people
> with tinnitus.
>
>
> Looking forward to hearing from you,
> Sincerely,
> Dainis W. Michel
> Founder CureTinnitus.org

Response
> Dear Dainis,
> Thank you for your email and I am would be happy to do an interview with
> you. I had the chance to view your website and your mission statement which
> I agree with. We need a multi-modal approach if we are to cure tinnitus.
> It’s interesting that we are finding one another now as Kevin and I just
> updated our Tinnitus book to encompass all the various approaches and I get
> into attacking tinnitus from all angles.
> I will be out of town for the next week but I will have access to email on
> a regular basis. Just let me know what the next step is and what you
> propose to do.
> My Best
> Jennifer

Member Questions
– Is it gonna be a movie like a regular tinnitus-show?
Yes, most likely, if she agrees
– Is she the only one to be interviewed?
For this interview, yes, however in the member area we have Kevin Hogan, Paul Tobey, Dr. Greuel, and coming up, we’ll have Paul Carrington, and I think there are some others, but it’s not coming to me right now…
– Can members send in their questions?
Yes, and that will be very interesting
– Is there a chance that you’ll look for collaboration, uhh, how do I say, maybe more expertise involved?
Yes, that’s a part of the mission of CureTinnitus.org, not learning from 1 person who healed himself (Julian), but learning from many people who have healed themselves, including members who wind up willing to share (odd, tinnitus is, people feel ashamed, scared, etc.)
– The more knowledge integrated the more people are aware of it’s healingproces:-)
I agree…
– When will it take place?
I’ve suggested some times within the next few weeks

If you like, record your question by leaving me a message at 317-713-1177, then we can play your question on the show…

My question for the tinnitus live show no.18 is: In the e-book Julian says that exercise is really important. But in one of his tinnitus shows (I don’t remember which one) he said that sex and exercise make tinnitus worse. From my knowledge adrenaline is secreted during exercise but absorbed quicker as well. Could Julian ellaborate on that because it’s a crucial point.

Audio Question
[podcast]http://www.curetinnitus.org/curetinnitus-org-question-01.mp3[/podcast]

Member Question

Dear Julian, I woke up one morning jumped out of bed quickly and the tinnitus started. My husband was away for 10 days the only time in the 40 years of marriage I was on my own. By the time he came home I was very anxious as my brother has suffered from tinnitus for 5 years and his was very bad and was suicidal for 2 years and I thought this was going to be me.

We were going to Thailand for our daughters wedding and all I wanted was to be free of this noise in my ears. By the time we left I was depressed and the doctor put me on anti depressants and unfortunately they reacted badly and while I was away I suffered badly from panic attacks, my ears were highly sensitive and I was a mess. With flights, elevators and just the stress of travel as we were aways for a month by the time I arrived home I felt I had a breakdown. I could not go back to work, I didn’t like being alone and I as desperate to be normal. My doctor changed my medication and it has help me. I believe the tinnitus was due to stress and grief that had occurred in my life the eight months before.

My husband and I have had lots of tragedy in our lives the worse losing a daughter at the age of 16 to a car accident. The months leading up to the tinnitus was my husband had a heart and a triple bypass, I had to put our dog down the same day, my mother in law died 5 days before this and my son went to live in France. They then found a lump in my thyroid and it had to be tested but fortunately it was benign. Then my husband went away and I was alone.

It might not sound much but having a awful year earlier I think this was just the last straw. Like all tinnitus sufferers I have done the accupunture, hypnotherapy, etc. My husband has surfed the internet hoping to fine some help. He came accross you speaking on the U tube and thought you were very sound in your thinking. So I started with a cranial therapist which I have been going to for 3 months. She said my central nervous system was totally on fire and when I told her my life story she said it is going to take some time till we get results but believes we will. I have been to psychologist but didn’t connect with her but she did put on som e relaxation music.

I have been a worrier all my live and head always takes over my thinking and I am struggling very much on letting go as I cannot take my mind of my ears, I try things like nice music with ears etc, I go for long works in park especally were the circarda’s are out in force because that gives me relief for a short time. My husband has found this hard as we were going to retire and take it easy, going tramping and spend time going to Australia more often to see our daughter and son and their family, but with me always saying, “will I be up to going?” just makes him mad as he believes I should be able to take my mind of my eyes and focus on good things, but I wake up in the morning and my 1st thoughs go straight to my ears.

I have some bad days where I think I am never so to let you and because I anxious it will not let go of me. Have you anything to give me that might help?

I always think the worse but that has come from a live of up and downs, more downs that up. I try not to think of my bothers tinnitus but it goes up for a couple of days I don’t think it going to settle back down and then it can spiral downwards.

I thank you for listening to me, I have become a member as I know it us import to have a support group. The fact that the heart attack changed my husbands life and now this with me we have been struggling a wee bit it our marriage which has been solid and it has got us through a lot of tragedies and pain. If you could help me Julian that would be good and I am happy to answer and questions you might have for me. I have only touched on a little of the happenings in my life but believe me we have had our share only now to be put this this.

Kindest Regards,

Member

PS: The most important issue to me is I cannot stop thinking about my ears. I wake up in the morning and the first thing I think of is my ears.

Member Question
Is Osteopathy doing the same with the body as Cranial sacral therapy? And are there similiar therapies that help you let go?

Guest Question
I think LOVING reality and so one’s tinnitus is a bit better than being ‘ok’ about it. BUt your message still opened up something for me, so thank you. HOWEVER – my tinnitus, since reading/listening to you, has become CONSIDERABLY LOUDER! I love it/don’t mind it now, but it is MUCH more prevelant. Can you speak to that please?

This book shows you how to let go of tinnitus and charts the landmarks of progress you make as you get better. You will find specific techniques to help distract, focus and relax you, so that you can manage this condition better. Julian developed these techniques to master his own tinnitus, and fine-tuned them working over many thousands of hours with clients. In this book you will find the fruits of many hours of research, study and clinical experience condensed into a manageable and positive approach to helping tinnitus.

You are recommended to print off a copy as you may need to refer back to the techniques frequently, until they become second nature. This is a book to dip into over a period of months and absorb slowly, as well as a quick initial read in passing.

In Julian’s experience, those that take on board the advice offered and put the techniques into practice on a regular basis, make good progress. Almost everyone finds they are more able to cope with tinnitus and are not nearly so bugged by it. However, many go on to make a good recovery where they start forgetting about symptoms and have to really focus on tinnitus to find it. How much progress you make depends on how far you are prepared to look after yourself.

As well as this highly practical approach, Julian will guide you as to what kind of external help you will need to let go of symptoms. A chart called the ‘Well-being Matrix for Tinnitus’ gives you a clear framework of how people get better. Here you can locate your own level of progress and be clear about what might be holding you back, and where you may need help. Most people are happy when they make it up to level 4 on the chart out of a possible 7 levels.

Julian’s e-book called “From Tyrant to Friend” costs £17.50 and is available for download as a PDF by clicking below.

Included: Sir, There is no cure for Tinnitus. 25% are cured without any medicin; 50% became use to the voice or the intensity is lowered down. 25% never cure, nor intensity is lowered down.

If you are so sure for providing a cure:
1. You should gain a noble prize.
2. You should be consulted by ATA.
3. People all over the world who suffer from Tinitus should come and see you.

Nothing of any such thing is happening and I really believe that you are just another such group who take advantage of the poor tinitus sufferers.

Emailed Question (please post at the show link in the future…)

I do have a potential question or two for the next one:

1. Julian (or “Jules” ) often talks about a personality type (“driven, focused,
successful”) that he encounters in his practice and mentions that it is very
typical for tinnitus sufferers. What about those who are not driven or focused,
who lack motivation and have not been particularly successful in terms of their
careers, who still suffer from tinnitus?

2. Julian often refers to “body work”. Is he mainly referring to cranio sacral
therapy or is he including yoga, pilates, etc.?

I just wanted to thank you for another good discussion and know that it means
so much to know you and Julian are there.
